Impact Youth

The Community Safety & Youth Empowerment Initiative is a youth violence prevention and development program designed to provide mentorship, trauma-informed support, workforce readiness training, and financial literacy education to youth ages 13–18 in communities impacted by gun violence.

Youth exposed to violence often experience trauma, grief, and limited access to positive opportunities that support long-term success. This initiative provides a safe and supportive environment where young people can build resilience, develop leadership skills, and gain practical tools that help them make positive life decisions.

Through a structured series of group counseling sessions, mentorship engagement, and career readiness workshops, program will serve 50–100 youth over a 3–4-month pilot program.

Program Components

The initiative integrates prevention, support, and empowerment through the following activities:

  • Trauma-Informed Group Counseling Licensed mental health professionals will facilitate group sessions focused on coping with grief, emotional wellness, and conflict resolution.
  • Community-Based Mentorship Trained mentors will provide guidance, encouragement, and accountability to youth participants while reinforcing positive decision-making and goal setting.
  • Job Readiness & Financial Literacy Training Workshops will help youth develop practical skills including resume writing, interview preparation, entrepreneurship basics, budgeting, and financial responsibility.
  • Youth Engagement & Incentives Participation incentives will help encourage consistent attendance and completion of the program.

Expected Outcomes

The Community Safety & Youth Empowerment Initiative aims to achieve the following outcomes:

  • Increased youth engagement in positive community activities• Improved coping skills and emotional resilience among participants• Increased knowledge of job readiness and financial literacy skills• Strengthened mentor relationships and positive support networks
